One night after working late on an engineering assignment, Gabe found himself unable to sleep, his brain churning over his future. How could he go on? What would happen to him?

Idly he turned his radio dial quietly - classical music, sport, raucous "music", then something different... a man's voice talking about Jesus.

He said: Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Gabe had already read that, the use of the present tense sounded clear and strong. Yes, God had helped him in the mist and probably at other times too.

Like a flash of light, he saw that God is "I AM", the God of the present, the now God.

And if so, He was/is the God who cares, who loves, who heals.

Joy welled up in the young man's heart, joy and hope, and the promise of a future. He would not give up.

He would follow God's path, the ancient path, the now path and walk in Light.
